It has been my experience that window switches with the white circles are well worn. As Nate stated, when new the switches had a drawing of a window where the white circle appears now. Genuine Mercedes switches have an internal light that comes on when your headlights are on. After market switches often do not have this internal light and at times do not fit the hole in the console wood properly.

I have seen a few pre-owned switches on Ebay that have the White circle on
the top like my original. Would it be preferable in terms of fit to try and stay with these?..I've seen an individual switch as well as the two switches with the complete mechanism. |

I'm sure there is a way to email the powers that be to see why you cannot post pictures...maybe it's just some technical glitch... There must be an explanation Somewhere.. |

That's 100% NOT going to fit your W126, the W126 switches are all independent, separate, little units.. They're not conjoined like whatever that thing is you purchased.
Why would you buy that? It looks nothing like an old school 90's/80's Mercedes window switch.

Wow, Party...that's some nice picture...I wish Cupcake Looked that
good on the inside. My old wooden middle console is getting cracked. I wish I could Somehow protect it. Put some kind of Wood tape or something on the cracks to kind of protect them, keep them from getting worse... It's incredibly fragile, that piece of wood over the gears.... |

I sent you my E-Mail twice, if you respond I'll send you the picturs . There are places that re finish the wood but it's easier and far cheaper to just buy the black plastic replacemnt part from the M-B Classic Center .

DARN DARN...
So I got a window mechanism with the two switches for my Mercedes, passenger side. I would Put a Picture But I cannot!...I have to have a URL for a picture to be inserted??... I plugged in, the front and back, and Neither window works. SO does that mean its something in the door panel? in which case I will have to take to my mechanic, or can I check wiring anywhere to make sure it is sound. I will also put new Fuses again, just in case thanks |

Do not need to have an URL. Use the paperclip instead. It could be that your pics are too big. Get a resizer program and reduce the pics to (I think) 350x480. That is small enough and the paperclip should work for attachment.
Just save the old pic on your desktop and reduce the size. Send the reduced size pic. |

I have a question about the ball bearings in the window toggle switches...
People have said to put grease beneath the ball bearing where it sits on the little lever. Why...It won't really hold anything in place...If this is important.. what could I use that is in the house. And if it's important to keep the ball bearing in place...why not use a dab of glue....confusion. Thanks |
