Most brands of cars don't have this link of odd rubber block and noise and vibration don't seem to be an issue. I think I'm going to go full MacGyver on this and bolt it back together.

I would fix it by any means at this point.

This is what you need. Or at least, this is what I needed.

But at Ace, I just bought a pvc piece to act as a housing for the metal rod and packed it with grease. My rubber mount thingy was in fine condition. Yours is torn. That'll complicate things for sure. But I gotta imagine you could rig something up while your other pieces show up in the mail?

MB was trying to make a luxury car back then. It’s amazing how much rubber isolation the 123 has.

I just test drove my plastic 3d printed ball equipped throttle. Didn’t feel any vibration. It was probably smoother because I put fresh grease on the joint.

ETA - I’ve got to admit that break in the rubber looks really bad. I wonder how well 3M 5200 marine polyurethane glue would work on something like this? Maybe you could glue it back together. I still think 3d printing a mold that incorporates a retainer for the metal plates and pouring urethane is the way to go.

I did something like this for my engine shock mounts last year. I 3d printed some plates to hold the urethane in and center the internal tube at the same time. Then I injected Permatex Urethane. The stuff I used was one part roof flashing cement and it was too pliable. However there are higher durometer rubbers available in two part compounds.

Maybe something like this can work on the accelerator vibration isolator?

My firewall pivot fell apart a couple months ago. I superglued it back together. So far, so good.
