Some of them seem to be constructed differently. Mine had the collar made as part of the Ball material and had to large holes drilled from opposite ends with leaving a web in the middle then t he black bushings which are made of tougher material were inserted through each end. The fit is not tight.

Others seem to have done away with the 2 large holes web thing with the separate 2 black bushings and the Collar is not part of the ball material. Instead there is an insert that has the collar made as part of the insert and the insert goes through the full length of the ball through a single large hole. I have never seen one other then in pictures but I presume the insert is mad of tougher material then the ball.

If the whole ball was made of decent material you could eliminate the bushings or insert and would just need an 8 mm hole drilled through.

Nice! And just to underline what it says in the settings, make sure to use ABS. If you use PLA it'll break down and you'll be back where you started.
