I did want to hear what others did. I already have the Cylinder Head off of the Engine.

The don't sell Kroil anywhere locally. I did use PB Blaster which Home Depot sells.

I found I had another triple hex tool. Made by Cornwell USA. I had in the past years bought 3 different lots of tools for Mercedes and now that I rediscovered it remember it was one of those tools.

The other tool can be turned into the T handle that was mentioned.

For those who already have the triple-square male socket, you might buy the 3/4" drive socket set at Harbor Freight, which comes with a stout T-wrench as shown and a long-handle ratchet wrench. With an adapter, you can attach to the 1/2" drive socket. Besides this one job, you will find the large sockets useful for other things like when you need one that fits to press a cylindrical part. I bought that socket set long ago to remove a FWD axle nut (250 ft-lbf spec) and had to jump on the socket wrench to budge the nut, though now have the HF Earthquake air wrench and air compressor which makes that easy.

I did a little googling. The link below is helpful. While triple-square have 12 points, they differ from a "12-pt" head. The former is termed ZXN and the later can be termed "double hex". The difference is in the angle of the flats. triple-square has 90 deg corners, which grab better (see post 16 in link). Torx is totally different. Triple-square are mainly found on Euro cars in 6, 8, 10, and 12 mm. I recall that later M-B engines have head bolts with male socket heads (12-pt?). BTW, if you ever need to rebuild your transmission, the rear output shaft is secured with a 12-pt male nut. I had to buy a set of large 12-pt metric impact sockets at HF to remove that.

Wow, I bought one waaay back when it was called Harbor Ship and Freight. It is not charmed but kind if like a packetized finish. It was a great buy. I think I bought it in the late 1970's but unsure of my memory.

The newest ones are different.

The KD2306 that a cut down and the new replacement I received are both US made. On the back of the package of the new one it has "used to install 12-point (triple-square) metric socket head screws" At the tip it his "12mm serrated wrench"
The Cornwell tool has a top part for the socket wrench which is PS3214 and a separate bit CSD-12mm and has teeth in the same shape of the KD Tool. So both tools are indeed triple-square.
