I used a procedure on youtube. I think it was this one https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IpRWcNoLdwQ&t=338s
Remember, there is a timer. I had one laying around, so I just replaced it. |

Well, I have three relays in my fuse box area. Two small silver ones and one larger rectangular black relay with the number 2018210047.
I understand that is the defroster relay. I took it apart and it doesn't show any evidence of being fried. I took some very light sandpaper and very gently ran it through the three contacts in the relay....... .....Now the car won't start. Does that relay also have something to do with starting the car? Every function is working, except for the rear defroster, and the battery tests strong. All lights come up on the dash, but the car does nothing when I go to start it. ?????????????/ |

Being a diesel, the only electrical thing that I can think would affect starting would be glow plugs or maybe fuel pump.
