OM617.952 Intake Breather
Hi All,
I busted the tee on the breather pipe for my 84 300TD Euro. This has the unique routing where the breather goes under the air cleaner housing. I'm looking for the tee that goes into the Intake Tube pictured below. Does anyone know where I can get the p/n for this? |

First you need to post a picture .
I'd try the M-B Classic Center, at the very least they can get you the correct part number then you're off and running .

Somehow I double posted this. Oops. Attached is the picture. I couldn't find one that represented this breather piping that connects the intake tube and valve cover going both towards the air cleaner. The broken part is marked with the following p/n: 617 016 04 29 A

You're welcome, I will never be able t pay back the help I have received here .
Vents can be tricky things ~ I'm in the middle of trying to get a 1970 Dodge D200 V8 360CI 4BBL through smog testing ~ amazingly I got it to whistle through the tailpipe test, my problem is with the closed gasoline tank system ~ it has to hold pressure and it doesn't . I've been chasing down parts all over hellandgone, as far as I can tell my last issue is the rubber grommet that holds a short 3/16" steel pipe that transfers the hydrocarbons to the activated charcoal canister in the engine compartment ~ This rubber grommet is 42 years old and crispy ~ it doesn't fit snugly into the huge 36 gallon ABS gas tank . I bought a tube of the old style Permatex 1H, this being the everything resistant goop I have used in the past to seal up carbys with warped air horns ~ kind of a 'Hail Mary' thing but this old truck runs great and my brother depends on me to keep it road worthy . He refused to let me drain and dismount the tank so I had to work blind and then damned thing still leaks . I mention all this because in the past I have many times cleaned up something that's leaking oil copiously, slathered on the 1H (this is the evil smelling non hardening brown stuff, different from any other sealants) and allowed it to dry and always has worked no matter how bad it looks . Since you have what's left, you may be able to clean it up and do the same . The trick is simple sounding : not a speck of anything oily can remain or it WILL continue leaking . Keep us [posted .
