Probably because there is so much still to do on the car, and the fact that it was such a struggle to even get to this point.

The engine has started. Actually fired up immediately after sitting overnight and most of the next day which is encouraging.

Like I said still much to do. Need to get the car insured so I can start driving it around.

Second that. I have all the manuals.... they were written in German then translated to Japanese and then to English ... I am pretty sure... LOL
Even with ALL the manuals the Haynes Manual was very helpful.

Factory Shop manual WARNS against turning the engine backwards more than a couple of degrees. I forget what procedure that was acceptable for.
But if turned backwards... the chain can loop down and not connect correctly with the injection pump when reengaged.
THUS the FSM instructions on ' rolling in a new chain ' include HOLDING PRESSURE ON THE OLD chain and new chain ( attached together ). Typically it seemed not holding pressure as it was rolled in caused an 18 degree difference in the setting.
