"How to open stuck hood on Mercedes W123", hood release cable broke

This is new to me.

This is if your hood release cable broke or is for some reason inoperative.

Thanks for sharing this. Perhaps it’s time for me to pick up a spare hood release cable.

That's a handy trick, but why would anyone ever need to open the hood of a W123???

The way parts for W123's are being discontinued getting some parts could be good investment even if you only sold them later.

Another place this method could be helpful is if you found a W123 at junkyard that you could not get the hood open on.

Oh man what a neat trick! I’ve seen some 123s with broken cables and levers while bottom feeding on Craigslist.

Almost makes me want to remove the screw as a precaution. I'll at least look at it before there's a problem.

This would work on a 126 too.
