W115 300D vacuum shutoff valve

Hi folks,

I need to change the vacuum shutoff valve on my 1975 W115 (the one that fits to the rear of the injection pump). I'm struggling to find a part number. Can anyone help?

I think it might be 0000702053 but I keep finding listings for later cars with this number (W123, etc). That said, if it's the same engine (OM617) then perhaps it is the correct one?

Thanks!

don't know what the number would be for a w115, but it does not appear to be the same as a w123.

Replacing the injection pump vacuum shutoff box, 1975-1976 300D W115.114

this thread shows removing the IP rear cover and a triangle flange on the shutoff solenoid on a w115.

the w123 has its own retainer and bolts on from the outside with a square flange, no removal of the rear cover on the IP.

Thanks for this. Great write-up!

For anyone else finding this in the future I've since discovered the part number which is: 0000701853

Not the easiest item to get hold of but I managed to find one and have just ordered it
