What part is this?

1991 W124 300d.

In doing some work recently, I tried to take this part off and broke the plastic lid of it.

Looks like the Wiring connector on the upper radiator hose fitting. It’s a temp sensor. The wire “plug” for that is a pretty generic Mercedes two wire. They can be found in JY cars and they’re in part’s catalogs

The cover broke to pieces when I tried to take it off. The plastic was brittle.

Look closely at the connector there should be a part # on it. Grab a couple if you can find them you'll need them at some point.

The top cover popped off the connector. That secures the pins from backing out, though likely they are tight on their mates. It just slides on and clips on many connectors. Might find it in the engine bay. I suspect nylon since the plastic holds up well to heat.

They can be purchased from the dealer and varous other sites and I most likely have several
