Post High Mileage Award POLL!!!

So I must ask, given the number of diesel freaks here,

HOW many of you actually participate in Mercedes High Mileage Award Program?

IF you ask me, the program instills a lot of pride in ownership. Not to mention it is FREE! The first award is granted when your engine achieves 250,000km which is something like 165,000 miles i believe. MOST of you should have this one! They give you a grill badge plated in gold, a broche, a pin, and a certificate. It's great. Other awards come at 500,000km, 750,000km, and 1 million.

SEE?? Mercedes-Benz still loves us!

attached is my baby achieving 200,000 miles at 20mph and 2,000rpm

Just received my second 250,000 km award today. This one is for my 1980 300SD. Great program!

Sending in for #2...

I have one for my 1983 240D that just turned over 207K, and am in the process of filling out the form for my 1981 300tdt which has about 158K!

I definitely agree about the 'Pride in ownership' comment!

Hey, all I got was the gold badge and a certificate! They stiffed me on the pin??

Yes, I am very proud of my high mileage awards. I need to send in the papers for my daughters 250KM.

My 240D is not all that far from the one milliion. I need to get time to put it back on the road.

Have a great day,

This is one cool idea! It also shows the quality of workmanship that they PLAN ON their vehicles going 500K or more!

And the fact that they still honor Road Side Assistance for 20+ year old cars?!?!

I'm hooked.

The lapel pen and a personal certificate are given to an owner of a Mercedes-Benz that has driven the vehicle the required mileage. So if on the application you indicate at least 250,000 km/155,000 miles were personally driven by yourself you should get both items in addition to the radiator plaque for the car. The radiator plaque is issued based upon the mileage of the car.

Also, note that MBZ has issued a new application form (revised 4/02) for the mileage awards which now has a place for a dealer representative to sign. They may accept the old form, but you might want to get the new form by calling the Customer Assistance Center at MBUSA (1-800-367-6372).

There are three levels of achievement:
250,000 km/155,000 miles
500,000 km/312,500 miles
1,000,000 km/625,000 miles

Have the 250K badge for my 85 300D. Easy -- got the from from MBUSE - CLassic. Dropped by local dealer for verification, submitted and got badge two weeks later.

Really nice service -- shows that MB cares.

Nice pic peyton. I plan on taking one of mine at the 200,000 mile mark. Had hoped to be flat out but my wife found out about the other pic and I got a thrashing. Maybe!

No D's in my stable, but I have two of the 250K awards, one for each Benz.

With as much "award" discussion as we've had in the various forums, I am surprised at the percentage of folks who didn't know about the program. No reason each and every elegible Benz doesn't have it's award (sheer laziness, while a good reason, isn't valid in this case ).

You need another choice in the poll:

1. I know about the award, but don't have enough miles to apply for it.

I have almost 140,000 miles on the car, so I don't have that much longer to go.

I thought the 500,000 km mark was the equivelant of 212K miles, not 312K. Darn, I thought I qualified for the 500K badge...

I went to a dealer at one point (actually, only a couple people at the dealer knew anything about it), asking about it, and they didn't have any forms onhand...and I haven't yet gone through the trouble to get them. With that number, though, maybe I can take care of getting the forms mailed off this afternoon...

Thumbs up

I painted my grille insert black today on my 83 and was thinking wouldn't a mileage badge look nice there.... So I figured I'd dig this up for those who were wondering the same thing, but never looked.

Still another 44k miles to go for that 500,000km badge on the 84.

I'll take some tomorrow, my camera takes horrible low light pictures. The vertical strip is old and messed up a little, but all the horizontals are new. I think it looks real nice though, a black grille on a silver car, really accents the chrome.
