'83 300D "BRAKE" light stays lit, pads are fine...

The brake light stays on solid, but sometimes flickers a bit. I looked at both front brake pads and they are almost new and the sensors are plugged in like they should be. Any clue?... -- Mikey

The sensor or sensor leads could be shorting on something.

Unplug the sensors and see if the light goes out. You may have a defective sensor. If the light goeas out, then plug them back in one at a time to determine which sensor is bad.
