Question Where does the a/c evaporator drain hose drain out into?

I'm referring to the styrofoam hose that comes out of the bottom of the box that the a/c evaoprator is in, to allow water to drain out. Where does this empty out into? I stuck my finger down the hole, and the part that my finger landed on is oily and warm enough that I'm thinking it might be the top of the tranny. If I'm right, could the heat emanating from the tranny explain why it's getting humid inside whenever I turn the a/c off?

Unfortuantely, I dropped a napkin in the hole and can't readily get it back out (was trying to wipe up the oily substance before realizing what it was), and I"m worried that, if it really is on the tranny, that driving the car before finding it could result in a fire...

Thanks in advance!
