Replacing 603 Injection Pump Pressure Valve Seals?
According to the manual the correct torque after replacing the copper and O ring seals is 35 Nm.
I think I read somewhere that it should actually be retorqued two more times. Can anyone confirm the 35Nm and the retourque procedure? Thank you. Last edited by ezrider; 02-13-2003 at 11:47 PM. |

vaguely, I remember something like that also, but
I just looked it up in the manual on section \Engine\617\07_1-210.pdf, and it says torqu to 40-50NM IN ONE STEP.
But I thought that I read something along the lines that you say in the MBZ.org site. best of luck

The newer OM60x have an odd, very specific multi-step torque procedure. But since you didn't specify your make/year/model or engine type, it's hard to say... :p

Sorry I didn't post that it was a 603 engine.
Thank you. |

Yeah, on the 603 it's something like torque to 35Nm and release, repeat, and then a third time (but don't release). The exact procedure is in the 1987/88 TDM (Tech Data Manual).
