I think your fuel is jelling (getting thick) you may need to put some anti-jelling additive or even 10-25% kerosene to thin out your diesel fuel. I would change my fuel filters first, because ice and jelled fuel may be stuck in the filters preventing fuel from traveling though. Your owners man. might have some info. on using winter fuels.

Welcome Volt! Welcome to our forum.
That is very cold temperature!!! -29 C !!!

You need a good glow plug system, dah? And try thinning the fuel with keresene, (or parrafin, the British call it). Dump out the fuel filter to get out gelled fuel.

I hope you don't have to work outside!

I used the anti-jelling additives, but... no changes.

About kerosine: i think he can damage the plunger pump, did he?

Yesterday i disassemble the fuel tank and cleaning it and drying,
after that i builded in it a lamp(12Volt 21Watt) near the intake manifold whith screen filter(i think that it filter creating the problem when the diesel fuel is jelling or when it whith water).

in addition i want use the heater(by warm antifreeze) of the fuel reclaiming system.

P.S. the diesel fuel in Russia is durty and mixing whith water.

i DONT joke with u guys, here in Sweden the diesel fuel is kerosine with "additives", as i said u can use it in a kerosine heater without any smelling problems at all. and it DONT damage the pump, more than that gaskets in plungerpumps dries out faster... =(

well hop u guys understood how i meant =)

Actually, I think Volt HAS adhesives in his fuel!

There must be many diesels running in your area, can you ask a mechanic what they do for fuel?

If you have water in the fuel, that would probably freeze.
Anti-gel would not prevent your water from freezing.

Man, that is cold. What is that in Fahernheit? Wow.

There are fuel heaters that you can put in the fuel line. I don't know if it would cure your problem. I have seen them on ebay.
