Jhal, I agree, in Florida, Hess is the best you can get. I'm the member in Sarasota that Rick mentioned who tested the fuel. Texaco premium diesel is the next best thing. You have to look around, the Texaco Premium near me is the cheapest diesel around, period.

LightMan,

Greetings from Nokomis!

Where might this Texaco be located at?

Hey there Larry! Actually the texaco is in Sarasota on 41, across from sarasota mem. hospital. Between bahia vista and hilview, on the east side of 41. I took a sample and had that texaco's fuel analyzed at a lab, and it was one of the cleanest fuels they've tested!

A guy I know also tested the hess at the Kings Highway pt charlotte exit (exit 170) and it had 50 cetane, however was pretty dirty. Older mb's arent as sensitive to the particulates as new high pressure direct injection diesels are, so if I were you, I'd go to that hess on Kings hwy! You'll definitely notice quicker starts, more power and mpgs with the hess..

Ok, I know where that's at. Thanks!

I usually fill up at the Hess on 41 just north of Laurel Rd. (Exit 200 will bring you to their driveway)
The Hess two exits south of Kings Highway usually has cheap fuel too (along with what used to be a speedway across the street - I think it is a Pilot now) High volume pumping going on there, as many semi's fill up there.
There used to be a Texaco in Venice, but they closed it because they are finally widening the 41 down there.

See ya around!

-Larry

Just wanted to make you aware of those two which are verified by fuel analysis. There is no guarantee a texaco premium other than the station that I noted will be clean or good fuel...
