Question Left rear door stiff

Hello!

I noticed this problem for the first time this morning, and haven't had a chance to check thoroughly into it yet (been very busy with school and whatnot). My driver's side rear door doesn't want to open or close all the way. It seems to move okay up to the mid-way detent, and tries to stay there. It takes some force to open the door all the way or to close it all the way from this point, and when the detent does release, it almost sounds like something broke.

What should I be looking at?

Thanks in advance!

Perhaps the door check strap.

warden, i second what ken said. mine has the ''sticky door'' syndrome as well, prolly from lack of use. the passenger side also did that and then finally would not open more than half way. took the thing apart (grrr,,) and found the large ball bearing in the check strap jammed in it in a way that would not allow the door to be opened fully.
the temporary fix was to remove the check strap.

perhaps yours is not that far gone and you could re-grease the whole thing when you get in there. if you leave it, it may fail like mine did.
good luck!
