Car's been sitting a while
My 300SD has been sitting for some time now probably about 5 months while I've been at school. Prior to this, the glow plugs were not functioning properly and the car was becomming harder and harder to start. I just went outside to try and start it and just see what happened and there was no response when I turned the key. I'm pretty sure that the battery's dead. Right now im thinking im going to need to diagnose and fix the glowplug problem and replace all the feul filters just to get the car running. Then change the fluids and run some diesel doctor through the tank to get that algae out thats probably been growing. Also there is some moisture in the interior getting in through the faulty rear windshield seal and there is some fungus growing on the rear seatbelts. What else should I look out for when trying to rehabilitate the car? thanks

After sitting for that long the cylinders have probably lost all their oil too as it would have run down by now.
Oil in the rings helps compression so I personally would shoot a couple of squirts of oil into each one and let it sit overnight. I used a squirt can and a piece of fuel line to get through the GP holes.
