My brother ran a sloppy, poor penetration weld bead down the length of each sleeve and they more or less fell out. He did make a driver, but only really needed it for one sleeve.

Factory recommendation is a driver that fits fairly close to the bore size with a step nearly the thickness of the sleeve -- turn block upside down, insert driver, and use a press to drive the sleeve out.

To install, pack sleeve in dry ice, turn block right side up (clean bores first!!!), drop sleeve in and press flush. Hold presure on sleeve for several minutes so it doesn't climb out.

I think you may be able to press them in at room temp, but we had the shop do it -- they also cleaned the bores.

Peter

You can do these sleeves without dry ice (unlike the 6-bangers), but you're still left with the daunting task of decking the block after they're in. For that reason, I would leave the install of the sleeves to the machine shop.
