83 300sd Turn signal malfunction

I replaced the front drivers side parking light assembly after the original fell out. I also replaced the battery. Now the left turn signal does not work when the headlights are on. The green dashboard turn signal indicator light stays on.

The left turn signal works when the head lights are out. The right turn signal works fine at all times.

Car has 300k miles and is still a great car.

Unrelated topic. Can someone point me to an online guide to the seat rebuild?

Thanks.

suggest you

check the assembly plug to main wire harness.
You can install it 180 off = backwards.
Also check your LF and LR ground lug.
I had a MB in the shop last month; with the same problem.

I had another similar one in January; the headlight wiper froze up and shorted, customer requested I disconnect the wipers.

Thanks for your response.

I checked the plug. There seems to be only one way to assemble it because of a guide plug. Cannot insert the plug 180 degrees. I wonder if the socket is the correct part.

Where are the LF/LR ground lugs?
