I'd love to have a 2.5T 190D... But I'll just have to live with my speed demon 2.2!

I believe that there are no manual 190D 2.5Ts. I think they're all automatic. But I could be mistaken. I don't see what's so great about a manual though. It's a PITA if you ask me.

You could find a post '85 300D and take the engine from it. Although at the prices they still demand, you would be better off just using the 300D as-is (Even more so with the 87 with the OM603. Think SDL minus a few hundred pounds!).

1987 300D with OM603

1990 300D 2.5T

1992 300D 2.5T

Off hand question that kinda sorta fits here, what's a 603 from an SDL worth used? By used I mean starts and runs ok, but seems to smoke when throttle is rapped(bluish-oil). But it does run well...

I somehow imagine a rebuild is not cheap..

I've gotten 41 a couple times from my euro 190D 2.5 manny tranny, but the turbo is always more in the 30-35 mpg range (and sometimes a little less with winter fuel).
