giving my 93 300D a vacation

my 93 300D is going to be taking a year off...insurance is killer..

what prevenative measures should i perform in order to not have the car damage or deteriorate while it sits through a NJ summer, fall, and winter?

also..while it is out of commission, what can i do to it to basically restore it? i want to do things myself, i understand cars, i'm no mercedes or any vehicle mechanic...

thanks..

Change the oil, top the tank up, and if it's not going to get moved at all put it on jack-stands so the tires are still round when you're ready to use it again.

I suppose it would be good to put one of those little trickle chargers on the battery to keep it fully charged too.

Oh, some mouse poison wouldn't be a bad a idea either.... don't want the little critters working on your wiring. I would put 3-4 packs scattered around the car.... under hood, trunk, cabin.....

you might want to add something to the fuel to keep it from gelling

Just add one of those fuel additives, like Redline or PowerService. You not only want to prevent gelling but also prevent algae from growing in your tank and these products will help.
