blue W123

"Four Seasons" (1981) with Alan Alda, Carol Burnett and Rita Moreno. A drama about middle-aged couples. The dentist guy, played by Jack Weston, has a new W123 (I believe it's a 280E). He's really anal about the car, just loves it. The ending is quite painful; something bad happens to the car.

Jack Weston takes a walk on a frozen lake and falls through thin ice. Then his friends decide it would be a great idea to drive his new Mercedes onto the ice to attach a rope and pull him out. While they're attending to a cold, soggy Jack, he has the perfect veiw of his new Mercedes slipping under. His wailing is quite pathetic. He moans about his diesel and how in two years he "could've sold it for more than he paid for it!"
When one of the group replies "We can pull it out", Jack shrieks "What the #$%&* am I going to do with a rusty Mercedes!!"

Happy Motoring, Mark

How bout the movie "Downtown" with Forest Whitaker? A load of W126's all throughout especially the ending where a poor seat gets cut up! 1990 movie...sucked!
