I was hoping you were lurking when I posted that. I would rather see you say he is ready to get rid of it than he is ready to sell it.

Once you get the SD over to your house, you need to take your time on returning it.....

Anyone remember when that whole caravan of Vettes got pulled over for speeding in some other state? That would be screwed up if it was a line of old diesels.

I just cruise about on the freeway. I usually wear a bandana, eat some fruit, and have a bottle of water. Sometimes I have some sunflower seeds to munch on too.

I'd like to give the stripper 560 a kickdown at 60mph and feel it kickback to second gear and haulass down the freeway.

Yes, I'd laugh hardcore at a line of old "stinky" MB's got pulled over.

Oh once I get her here, she'll stay awhile. He said $800, but I think if someone laid $500. on the talble, he'd take it. I honestly think it can be used as a car, but man it'd make a fine parts car.

Do we have a list of all models that will be there? I know we have a roll call sheet going on the "Events" thread.

SDL or the M117 powered 420. The SD looks pretty shabby (only half of the interior is swapped) as it sat in the sun unwashed for years and is half primer currently... but it runs like a champ, has almost no oil leaks, and takes me anywhere if I need. Never leaves me stuck.

For now, it looks like mostly W123s, and W126s, but I do have 2 W203s, SLK, and CL55 from another forum who want to come, and invited a fellow MercedesShop member I met at the indy today who recently took delivery of a eBay 1992 300D 2.5 (W124).

Great! It'll be awesome to see such legends of MB's in attendance.

i will be coming in a black and chrome W116d!

So apparently everybody in DFW agreed on the Carl's JR. Now we need to decide the time. Which mostly depends of the time of the meeting in Centreville.

A black and chrome W116? I'd love to see a W116 up close. A black and chrome W116 300SD passed by our last get together, they didn't stop, but they honked and waved. It had a nice tint, with Ronal R31 rims. Beautiful car.

Since it takes about an hour and a half to get to Centerville and we're looking to all meet up at 2PM, I think a departure time of 12:30PM would be ideal. Maybe you should all start meeting up at Carl's Jr 15-20 mins prior to that? I don't know, just suggestions.

Your suggestions are well received and sound wise.

I just wondered, why are we starting this little wing-ding so late in the day? Seems like if we hit Centerville closer to noon, we would be farther along sooner, and still wouldn't be getting up, and/or leaving at the crack of dawn.
Just a thought......

**NO disrespect to the folks making the plans. **

I just thought 2PM would be a better time to meet up. If we met up at noon, the Austin guys would have to leave around 8AM, and since I know this is the weekend and we like our sleep, I figured 2PM wouldn't be too late, and still give some enough time to sleep a little longer. But, if everyone wants to move it to noon, we can, I did say everything was subject to change, right?

i would like earlier myself. to have lunch, or bbq or whatever food at the meeting.
Also could we explore the possiblity of moving the date. july 29th is unbereably far away in time. when most people in this planet barely know what they are going to do next week, asking for something 2 months ahead is kind of a stretch. How June 17th or 24th sound like?

I had a few reasons for making the date so far down the line. One was so everyone would get a chance to see it and prepare for it, you know, they can clear other events, plan other events around their business and work calenders so they don't interfere with that weekend, etc. Lots of members in Texas don't come on the forums everyday like we do, but only like monthly, even longer. Even so, they still like to attend get togethers. This gives them a nice bit of leeway to let them know about it. It's also a good way to get high numbers. Right now, we already have 16 or 17 people coming, and it's still 2 months away. Now, by July 29th, imagine how big that number will be. I also know you're concerned about asking someone to plan for something 2 months away. If you're worried you'll forget it, you can just mark it on a calender, or you ask me to PM you reminders like another member has requested.

I'm open to moving the time and date if we have a majority of attendees who want to. We can do a poll and see, but it "looks" like most everyone else seems content with the July 29, 2006 @ 2PM plans.

Just let me know.

Rashakor...........

I thought you were the one who initiated this whole thing?

Not to offend anybody, but since you started it, why don't you set the time and date? (We kind of went through this with the last GTG. It ended up with everyone accepting that, in all fairness, the initiator was the final say.)

If you do make changes be sure and update as many as possible.

However, to defend H-town, it is hard to get folks to agree on things. Expecially dudes. H-town sacked up, took the initiative and made actual plans. It is much different to say "Hey let's do something sometime" to actually making the effort to make specific plans.
I'm agreeable to this or another plan, just don't throw H-town under the bus.....
