Talking I'll be there!

I'm sure I can make it with this much advance warning...

A Thursday-Friday GTG might cause some schedule concerns, but I think i can clear the calendar for a special event like this.

It seems I have had the most fun ever at Car-nut gatherings, so I will give tis a high priority!

See you all there!

Kevin

Welcome Kevin -- check your calendar again!

What year are you using? This is a Saturday-Sunday event!

Some of us will be setting up on Friday, maybe even Thursday, and if you come to help, you'll be more than welcome, but the games don't begin until Saturday.

Welll-l-l-l-l-l, I take that back -- I can see a work crew party on Friday night.....!

106 miles from my house

That's too close to pass up. I'm putting it on the calendar! What I'll drive will depend on the weather. Two days of wrenching? Hmm - I might be good for just one day.

Cool! I'd hoped you come. You're on the list!!

I make the trip almost every week for three or four days -- most of my clients are in D/FW. If I don't stop for fuel, it's about an hour and 40 minutes, the last 25 miles through pretty country. (The rest of the trip's OK -- it's fast Interstate, but it's not particularly pretty until you get past Greenville.)

Two days of someone wrenching (actually, several "someones") and everyone learning, that is, when we're not partying, or swapin' parts, or lusting after each other's cars!

Stay the weekend -- it'll be great!!

I'll be in Wilburton OK the weekend before for a car show and then on to Ardmore OK for family visit. Will be coming back through the area on the 28th, will see if I can stop by if not too late. Won't be in a MB though just an ol Dog and trailer.

Nothing new, except trouble with the SD's AC!

sdpartz, you're counted -- you're #7!! I had faith -- I put you down as a "maybe" when you said you'd try. I'll go fix that now.

Sorry, but no updates for today, and probably not for a couple of days to come -- the AC failed this morning in the new-to-us 1983 300SD, and I've spent a good part of today chasing the problem. My climate control is clean as a whistle, all my fuses are spic 'n' span and making good contact, blah, blah, blah....

The good news: I found it.

The bad news: The blower motor is shot -- commutator horribly grooved out, brushes ground down to the nubbins. I have no idea how I've had AC for the last 1,300 miles, but I'm grateful! Just wish I'd had a little better warning. Actually, I wish I'd known how to read the warning signs, but now I do. When it goes out again in another 10 or 20 years, I'll have forgotten , but maybe the info will be of some use to someone else before then

So, since SDs don't have the courtesy to use 123 blower motors (of which I have one or two), I'm off to find out if 1985 gasser 126 blower motors fit 1983 diesels, and if not, where I can find one that will fit. The only other car w/AC is 100 miles away in Dallas right now, and this is Texas in August, where AC is not an option, it's a necessity!!

I'll get back on organizing more details for our gathering in a few days when I've solved this current crisis.

Higgins, like Professor Higgins, or someone else?

Why's he cranky? Don't you feed him well and treat him right? Maybe the Tech Sessions can make him less moody.....

The "maybe" has been removed from your name @ #14 on the list, "and young, hot wife" has been added.

You're a lucky man -- who knows, maybe some other guys will come to the GTG to admire more than your car!

No checking under the hood or undercarriages on spouses, though!!

re. her SD -- I'm currently dismantling a 126 gasser (500 SEL) at a boneyard. Will the tach amp and tach sensor fit? Sorry, interior's palomino, and the wood trim's mine, assuming I can get it off! Actually I only need the dash, which looks like I'm gonna have to pull the dash to get (grrrr) -- do you need the wood door trim and such? If so, tell me how to get it off and I'll grab it when I get back in a day or two.

Sunny

I always admired the older guys with young hot wife's, but never wanted the worry that 90% seem to be eat up with.

Nope, it's called "yanking the chain" or "razzing" and sometimes jealousy.
