Sunny, this is a great plan and I wish I could commit right now, but it's just too far in the future.

Put my solidly in the maybe category....

Where the heck is RLeo??? he's got at least 25 cars to bring up....right?

Actually, RLeo has been in touch directly with whunter (gotta love these creative user names...) and hopes to come. I don't know what he plans to drive, or if he's having his dad drive another, or what. Like you, this is apparently a little far out timewise for him to commit.

Until Randy posts here, I guess we'll have to wait for the surprise.

Sorry

I wish I could be there. The ONLY weekend that is not good for me though is the weekend of the 27th (I already have 3 events to attend and they are all over the U.S.).

Next year (if there is one next year), I'll take my 380SEC.

NEXT year...

Of course there'll be a next year! But what could be more important than a Mercedes GTG -- surely no one's given you notice that they're dying with that kind of accuracy, and what else could deter you??

Oh, well, we'll just have to struggle on without you. Sorry -- would've loved to see you there.

Is anyone interested in R12? I have a part full 30lbs cylinder (about 20lbs on the scale) that I am looking to sell as I have no need for this one.

Larry Bible is -- or has been, in any case -- a strong proponent of R-12 for our older systems (like all my mid-1980s diesels) that were designed for it. I don't know what his status is as far as older MBZs at this point, but I"ll bet there are others who'd be interested.

What do you want for it? I don't even know the price of R-12 these days, I'm ashamed to say....

Thats pretty easy to find out, just check Ebay (around $25-25/can plus shipping).
My jug is 18lbs on the bathroom scale. Whatever I sell it for, it will be a hell of a lot less then $25/lb... Say $180?

I hate to rain on your parade, but I don't want to see anyone get into trouble. It is illegal to sell R12 to anyone who does not have a 609 EPA certification.

I personally have enough R12 for my own needs. I have other vehicles besides MB's that require it. So unless it is a bargain price, I will let it pass.

Nothing that a $15 dollar open book test cannot fix http://www.macsw.org/certification.php

That's correct. You can also go to imaca.org and do the same thing. The 609 must be, however, obtained by the buyer.

Welcome to the "pack" -- glad you're coming, and glad you're bringing your wife!! Now if you could just bring the Gristmill River Restaurant with you, a day's output from the New Braunfels Smokehouse, or about 30 pounds of Black's barbeque from Luling, life would be complete. I know, I'll have to come down and get my own....

The roads wouldn't DARE wash out.... Our roads were in remarkably decent shape after pretty constant rain in May, June, and July. Soon we'll be getting some of the fallout from the Gulf storms, but our roads are built for about 15 more inches of rain a year than you guys get down in the Hill Country. Our county road crews have been fixing the few places that failed, getting ready for Winnsboro's month-long October celebration and leaf-peeping party, so they'll all be good by the time everyone gets here.
