Alas, I think that I will not be able to attend this diesel drive. The home sold where I'm providing security and it looks like I'll be moving my trailer to Leona Valley CA(17 miles from here) on that weekend or shortly before.

I have accepted a foreman/security/caretaker position on 10 acres over there. and the lady wants me on the property as soon after she re-takes possession. Pretty good deal for me. Take care of 3 horses and some goats, a couple dogs and generally provide a presence on the property. In exchange I get free rent, electric, water, Dish TV/Computer access, and maybe a home cooked meal once in awhile. This property is located 5 miles from the Palmdale Blvd/I-14 exit, so it's not to far from Acton. I can keep my clients here as well.

I hate to miss out on the drive, but I need to get my ducks in a row. She gets possession on the 16th and I need to go out there then to see where the trailer is going to go and what is entailed to hook up the water and sewage. That can take a bit of time, but I can hold out for a week in the trailer on the holding tanks.

Dang Charlie, good luck on the move. Maybe we will see you next time... But for sure I will see you at the LA meet, right?

The date is rapidly approaching.... I may or may not be able to make this trip.... I may be in Texas that weekend working on my computer network.

I need to get the last little bits of my itinerary together, and see whats what.

Sounds like a sweet move to me Charlie.

I hope by some miracle you can still make it up here for the Drive though.

If not there is LA, and I will see you there

You can bet that I'm going to be in LA for the GTG for Ross! I think it's more like a combination of work and moving expense and the logistics, that'll dictate whether I get to the Diesel Drive or not. My clients depend on me and I'm not about to let them down. Right now I need all the extra work I can get and this is prime vacation time for my clients.
The LA GTG I could do and still work for a client or two if need be, early or late if I have too.(that'll curtail some party for me though), but so far I have it open on my schedule.

Glad I got the 300SD as That's the only reason I can keep my Acton Clients. I figure that'll it only take 2 extra gallons of fuel to do the drive to Acton, do the clients, and back and probably only 1 1/2 gallons. I know my trips into town will be cut by better than 1/2 too. It'll be nice having a Chevron on my way anywhere(for Mariah) and a cut rate diesel/gas/milk store in the very same vicinity that is always a dime cheaper per gallon of gas, and sometimes 25 cents cheaper for diesel. That stop will be 1 block out of my way in or out from home. Also there's a good Albertson's on the way too. Dang near anything I need will be on my way and within 4 miles once I get moved.

SOOOOO??!! Jim B. Did she wear the sun dress? and did you show her the residents view of SF??
Hope you had a great time. You deserve it!

For the Boardmonger

Since your PM box is full, I leave this message here: In reference to your oil/water/fuel gauge, if you decide before the meet on the 19th to sell it separately, PM me your price and we could make the exchange at the meet. (In case you're concerned about splitting up the cluster, I could also let you have my gauge. It works; it's just that I'm interested in a gauge in metric).

By the way, a guy just posted on "Parts" today that he wants to buy a clock for a W123. There's another part-cluster sale for you.

Well good news and bad. I got a house! that's right, I'm buying one! no more rent! only mortgage. but sadly i have to be out of the house I'm renting by the 1st. Then I'll be homeless for a few weeks waiting for the escrow to close. so insted of moving my stuff the 4 blocks to my new house, i have to move it 40 miles to my uncles barn, then back the 40 miles 3 weeks later.

My friend is trying to buy a diesel Benz so i told her i would squeeze the drive into my plans so she could meet you all, but i just found out shes working. and honestly its for the best, because as it is i think I'm gonna be dead man walking for the next few months.

There might be a way for me to attend the Diesel Drive after all.
FREESIL isn't completely checked out yet, but getting there. and I don't want to drive Mariah. So, I have a travel voucher from Southwest Airlines from my trip to pick up Mariah at Jim B.'s that will cover the whole cost of a RT to San Jose Airport.

IF I can get a ride on the Diesel Drive(easy part I'm thinking), and IF I could get someone to pick me up at San Jose Airport at 8:40 A.M. on Diesel Drive Saturday the 19th. (harder I'm thinking)and IF Some one could drop me back at the San Jose airport in the evening or late afternoon after the drive /parts hunting is done)(I'd make the return reservations as late as possible to not have to make that someone hurry or miss ANY of the Diesel Drive. (harder too as well)

I would then be able to get there and ride on the drive and take pictures and...GAB. But not bring a car this time.

If that someone will get back to me ASAP I'll make the reservations ASAP. PM or answer here.

Well, you will be missed. There is always next time.

Enjoy yourself in Texas, to the extent you can in summer. Which city are you going to and for how long?

Will you be there long enough to contact some of the guys in the Diesel Discussion who are from Texas and can tell you where the Mercedes junkyards are, so you can hit a few of them, you never know what would be there.

Never know what you might score, I would definately do that

Someone Please update our attendee list to include these long distance travelers.

They are taking the long distance award from me but that will be okay. Wasn't much of an award anyway.

Still on track for a show time in parking lot number three.

Well I'm not going to make the Diesel Drive. Timed out to use my voucher(too expensive this close to takeoff date), for this trip and I didn't hear from anyone about a ride or a pickup and drop off at San Jose(SJC) airport.

I'll have Freesil in tip top shape for the FALL Diesel Drive, which I think should be up Jim B'S way. Imagine 30 Diesels winding around the town of Nevada City or parked in front of all the victorian buildings or the Art Deco 1930's Court house, Old Town Grass Valley and Lunch at the Willows. We can twist Jim B's arm to get him to set it up.

H & R Cup Kit for w210

If anyone needs one I took it off because I did not like stepping up to get out of the seat. I have 1 car that I have to do that all the time, besides I wiped the radiator off last summer and had to re weld the cross member back on and that was pre-lowering kit. I will carry it along if you want to look.

I really hope I can make it. Im pretty sure I can. id hate to ask my dad for more gas money and someone owes me 170 bucks and I cant get a hold of them. Ill probably make it though.

This is sort of weak though. Who's going to be there? Just me and jim b?

Another thing that is hard to justify is that Im actually driving (yes, DRIVING) to texas in a few weeks and may need all the fuel oel I can get. Ill see what I can do. I might be calling you jim b to discuss the drive.

Oh and garret cant make it.
