'88 300E F/S in NC - Nice!

Hello!

I'm listing this 1988 300 E for my Mother-in-law. It has been her daily driver since 1995, but she has recently upgraded to a S320 so this one has to go.

It has been very well maintained, both mechanically and cosmetically. The engine and tranny work just as they should and the car drives and handles A-1. The mileage is 186,000.

Some recent work includes- new A/C system (installed at Beck Mercedes in Charlotte), newer radiator and waterpump, and new fuel pumps. The car has been on CLK rims for probably 4 years and has excellent 16" tires (original rims included, if desired).

The interior is real leather (not mbtex) and is palomino in color. It is very clean with only normal creasing in the seating surfaces. The dash is perfect and the rest of the interior is beautiful as well. The only weak point may be the wood, which does have some fading and/or cracking depending on section. Radio is an in dash 3cd changer by Alpine.

Exterior is red, and is still in super shape. Please see pics! Original paint does not lie!! There are just a few small nicks, but there is a section of clearcoat that has come off on the right-rear quarter (above pinstripe, see pic). Otherwise, quite stunning.

This car is ready to drive anywhere, and there are no shopping lists you have to make once you get it home. A truly nice car, sold new in Charlotte, NC and has never left. Price is $5,495.

Sell one of the 190D's ?? Nope, it took way too long to find any good 5-speeds and they won't be escaping my iron grip! They are the proverbial hen's teeth.

However, since I see in your profile that you have a 2.3, e-mail if you need some parts. I have a good engine and some various small parts (sorry to be a salesman in my reply!).

with all due respect, the price is way out of line.

Not too long ago I purchased a similar car with 109k miles for 3500.

Just a few weeks ago, I purchased a 300e with 148k , mercedes receipts for 3400 for a/c work in June, CLK wheels with new tires... european headlights for 3800. I also have receipts for the headgasket, and it has a new starter, and a power steering pump that is only 2 years old.

I'm aware the price is high. It's my father-in-law's doing, and I'm just listing it for him in order to perhaps ellicit some interest (it is listed elsewhere). The price is negotiable.

He has yet to grasp the concept of depreciation! The car is not much different than when he bought it 10+years ago for his wife at $13,000.
