I have an 82 turbo Diesel Wagon, pristine original blue pain, very nice dark blue interior. New Michelins, runs strong, cold A/C. Can convert to run on WVO. $6000 w/o conversion, $7000 w/ conversion

1980 N/A diesel 300TD wagon. New silver paint, nice black interior, new tires, complete dual tank vegetable oil conversion installed. $6500

1981 300D N/A diesel 119K original miles, service records, pristine original blue paint, very nice dark blue interior, cold A/C, $5000 w/o conversion, $6000 w/ conversion

1982 240D 4 speed manual pristine original cream color, VERY nice palomino interior, all original, converted to run WVO $4000

I had twin 240Ds. Exact same colors inside and out, and very similar condition. truly amazing. and I bought them less than 2 weeks apart, and no more than 20 miles from my house. The guy who purchased the one on ebay came and picked it up already, he is quite happy.

I convert diesels to run on WVO semi-professionally, I have an official company "Diesel Oil Conversions" but it really does not pay all of the bills, so I buy older Diesel Mercedes, mostly in the LA area, and fix them up a little if need be, offer a veggie conversion at a discount and sell them. As part of the restore process I put a few thousand miles on them, enjoy them, and then hop on the next car. Besides, if I didn’t do it this way I would have like 30 cars! Boy, my neighbors already hate me as it is.

You really spoke highly of the 240D you listed on ebay. In what areas is this one not quite as good?
How would it do driving to Wisconsin

This 240D has a small and I am talking a very small dent on the rear quarter panel by the trunk, you really have to look of it. The A/C is not charged, I’m getting to that this week I hope. Other than that is cherry. I will included a few pics of the car, including the dent tomorrow. I would trust this car to drive anywhere it’s really nice.

I usually set up the conversions myself, so that way I know its all done correctly, however, I have put "kits" together for people before, and I can do it, they would include diagrams and instructions for installation. Let me know what kind of car, and I will give you a price.

DO you guys sell a VW (NA diesel) kit? I am getting an 86 Golf and would be interested in a kit eventually. I was going to check on the Greasel kit and saw your post!

To be honest, I could put a kit together, but we have not converted a volkwagen yet, so mabey it would be best if you hit up greasel for that. We have successfully converted:

A lot of 240Ds, 300D, 300SDs 300TDs 300SDL
80's Ford Diesels
7.3 Ford Powerstroke
96 Dodge Cummins

Nice 240d! Hey, if you want to beta-test a VW kit, I'd be happy to oblige! 8^) Seriously, I might be looking for a kit sometime in the near future. If you come up with ideas for a VW and need a guinea pig, let me know.

You said in first post that it was the original cream color - does that mean it has not been repainted? Just a touch up by the dent then?

Is the WVO a two tank system or do you run it out of the stock tank?

Hi, The car has original paint; the dent has been touched up, and has zero rust or corrosion of any type. The paint is nearly perfect, no serious touch up, no pitting, clear coat check. No cracks on the dash, no rips tears or imperfections in the MB-Tex, wood is perfect, glass is perfect, new windshield, original Becker AM/FM. IMHO the car looks like its maybe 3 years old, if condition is the only consideration.

In response to the WVO question, we always use the main tank as our veggie tank; we usually add a second tank in the trunk for start up on diesel/Biodiesel. On the central coast of Cali, we never get below 40 deg. F even in the dead of winter, so starting a Benz on Veggie is very practical.

Chris, I could put a kit together for you. They all take the same basic components. If I can find someone that lives around me with the same car you have I could draw up a diagram of how to hook it up, however since I have not converted one before you might have to contact Greasel and pick their brains for info if something goes wrong that I am unable to help you with.

why would you want a VW golf when you could be driving a MB for not a whole lot of cash?
