Selling 1977 300D Parts Car, NW NJ
The time to part with my old 300D has come. It has served our family well Here's the bad,
Reverse is pretty much out. Forward is great, but it takes a while for the pressure to build up before you can back-up. It has developed a pretty decent valve tap. I haven't pulled off the valve cover to take look, but the tap is not good. Still has power, like normal for a non-turbo, but the tap is troubling. Rust.... need I say more. Dent, in left rear quarter panel. The good news It has a lot of new parts within the last two or so years. Brand new battery, Radiator, alternator, front end rebuild, new rotars and rebuilt calipers all the way around, rebuilt injectors, timing chain, camshaft, rocker arms, michelins in good shape and the servo doesn't leak, used window regulators, rebuilt vacuum pump I'm sure I left some off, but you get the gist of it. I also have oil, air, fuel filters and some parts I never got a chance to swap out, flex discs and stuff I haven't looked at a while. Also the car is drivable. Prior to the valve tap, I would have felt comfortable driving it across country....... but now I would be gun shy, but it is drivable and handled my 80 mile round trip to/from work like a champ. Pictures below. Best offer as I have no idea how to price it, but it does have a bunch of new parts. |

Let me know if you come up with a price. I paid $650 for mine as a good runner, with no rust, 175,000 miles, faded paint, bad window/Door seals and AC still needs to be repaired or just charged (compressor works).
If that give you any idea on where to start. But I'm sure the parts are worth more the sum of them together, I'm not going to try to insult you by low balling you. And I can't waste a trip to look at a parts car without knowing what your intentions are. I need a clear windshield, rear passenger door lock, rear window reg\motor, spare tire, Cruise control linkage and I'm sure a few other parts I can't think of at the moment. The problem with cars with bad bodies, engines, and transmissions is.... well they have a bad body, engine, and transmission, but they do have many other useful parts...They just need to be worth the trouble of stripping what you need and junking the rest of the car. Sorry to hear the engine is noisy (Tap or Knock) if it's just a bad injector that's "Nailing" then you have of an asset. You may be better off stripping the parts and using Ebay. |

Thanks for the reply
Having given it some thought, if I got $1,000 I would be happy as a clam, but I am sure that is more that you want to spend. I do know that I have 20 parts that are worth at least $50 if I part it out.
Looking at your list..... these I have rear passenger door lock, rear window reg\motor, spare tire, Cruise control linkage and I'm sure a few other parts I can't think of at the moment My windshield is a mess. Let me know what you think. JCD |

Checked e-bay for "parting out prices"
Not as good as I thought.
First reasonable offer will be taken and unreasonable offers considered. Otherwise I will put it on e-bay and let the "global marketplace" decide. JCD |

$200.00 if it has enough parts, I can use for the Nannys 300D. Then I'll be willing to pull and ship to other fourm member for the cost of shipping. I mean no disrespect I know how it feels to lose a loved one.....
