This is the first time I've seen anyone actively looking for a 380SL. These are probably the least desirable of the R107 line up and typically those who end up with them do so because they got a good deal.

I've got one. Gold/brown, a smidge under 100k miles.

I'm about to do the timing chain/water pump/all the air distribution vacuum rubber, etc on it so it'll be ready to fly. Has some old school keyless entry on it, but runs like a dream and no rust. I don't know off hand if the AC works, haven't tried it.

I'd be looking at $8500 for it and it could be driven anywhere in the country.

While I assume that most 380's with single-row timing chains have either been converted to dual row, or are oxidizing nicely in junkyards, is there a quick and easy way to tell if a dual-row conversion has been performed?

I think you can see the top of it if you take off the filler cap.
