Hi All,

I have a 2000 silver ML430 that is crying for some chrome brush guards for the front end and tail lights. The problem is all the manufacturers I can find sell combo black/chrome-steel parts. I'm looking for an all stainless steel or all chrome front guard. I know it exists because I saw it on someones silver ML before I bought mine. It's always been part of my vision. Can anyone help?

Try this:

If I remember correctly, they have stainless. I went with black due to having a white truck...

Good luck!

Thanks, I did check them but only the headlight extensions and the bumper guard are chrome. The frame posts which connect them is black, and that sort of detracts from the looks...

While they do have a black rubber strip on the vertical sections, they’re all chromed. I saw one at a dealer’s about 3 days ago. Also, you might try http://www.claiparts.com as they have some different varieties. As an aside, I was told that the OEM and dealer installed A type brushguards have a nasty habit of putting the center support through the radiator in events as mild as parking lot mishaps.

Maybe you could find a black one you liked and have it chromed at a plating shop.

I would try WAAG. I Have a Sliver ML, and I plan on using there Front Bush Guards, Rear Bumper Guard, Rear Tail Lights Guards, and Side Step Bars, all in the Powder-Coated Black, and them paint them to the factory Brilliant Silver color. I have seen it on an ML in Red, Green, and Silver. All of them looked great and give them a very OEM, and Aggressive look. Besides I didn't personally like the silver or chrome as much as the black on the Silver MLs, Goto the dealer. Then again, its a personal choice.

Chiragp,

Thanks for the Waag tip, it seems to be the cleanest looking front guard. Looks like no one has an all chrome guard without any black rubber. Maybe I will have a black one chromed unless someone knows a direct source. Thanks again.

Hey Guys...

I thought the suggestion to "chrome my own " was good. The saga is that now I can't find anyone who can chrome a brush guard that's one piece. Does anyone know a custom all chrome guard for the ML? Any opinions on buying the modular three piece units out there, are they as strong or prone to squeaks and rattles??

Wouldn't it be great is someone made that stuff in fiberglass? A lot less weight, but would still work just as well in the real world.
