im baaaack!

i am still not able to put down the power i have. a posi would be very nice. also some lowering springs, bigger sway bars and ....you get the idea.

after our first run a guy came down and started comlaining that i shouldnt be in the hs class. i figured at that point i must have posted a good time. another guy came down and wanted to know what miodifications i had done to the car. i said none, just the slicks. the sec wasnt listed in the scca class system. i think maybe nobody has ever autocrossed one before. (who knew?)

anyway there were 13 in the novice class. i got second. i was beat out by a neon xr4ti (is that right?). they used the scca handicapping system. using that i beat a magnum hemi xrti wagon. in raw time he beat me by a second. i also was only a second slower than a 1970 porsche 911 running on slicks... and not a novice.

anyway i had a very good time. got sunburned. got delayed for four hours coming home when the other guy who drove up from lafayette with me accidently took the key for my truck home with him and had to bring it all the way back. just got home about an hour ago. long day. got up at 5:40.

good fun. anybody got a posi that will fit my car? 1984 500sec.

Excellent! Glad it went well (for the most part!).

As for the diff, how many miles are on your car again? Posi might be hard to come by but a fresh and properly rebuilt stock LSD might help quite a bit.

I'd wager they can be set up w/ varying levels of 'slip' so you could ask for something on the tight side.

Good to hear you surprised everyone w/ your coupe..most people don't Really know what these cars are capapable of in the right hands;-)

it has an open rear. no posi no lsd. inside tire smokes under acceleration out of a tight corner. a posi would be very nice.

oh i am nothing special, but the car is very capable, surprisingly so.

i have recently discovered that it has the rear lower a arms off an sl. aluminum. i knew they were aluminum and thought that was pretty cool but just found out that is what the sl has and now i am assuming they are the same.

i think i heard that the 560s all have lsd. and is that one of the ones that will bolt up to my chassis?
