Perhaps a passenger side fender from a diesel sedan which has louvers punched could help.

Getting enough air in, trying to extract the hot air from under the closed hood !!! |
Well so far i am driving with the splash shield removed, but thats not a choice i like to stick to for very long.

Interesting....thanks !!! Actually have a set of Mack Truck louvers that look very similar... Bought everything from Mack Truck to Pontiac Sunbird, Chevy Lumina and Datsun 280Z !!!! I'll probably use the 280Z.... |
On my supercharged M104 E280 I've removed all the rubber trim that seals the hood to the bulkhead, think there's 2 rubber strips to remove and associated plastic parts. I've also removed the splashguard from under the engine to get air flowing through.
The big downside is that the heat that comes out from under the hood goes straight into the interior blower vents so the aircon is working flat out and still doesn't quite get there on a hot day. When you pull up though after a hard drive the heat that comes out from under the hood is too hot to even hold you hand close to it. I've also considered bonnet louvres but didn't want to ruin the looks and keep it a sleeper. |
Its been a while and its good to see the progress people are making, i should say sorry for getting so annoyed with 1 or 2 posters but i was only asking questions and did not like being told to piss off.
Anyway, ive done quiet a bit to my 1995 w124 e320 twin turbo coupe ... oil change rad liquids change new oil filter new spark plugs new ht leads new fuel filter new rear lights put the 17" original AMG alloys off my other w124 coupe on it (sold old 15" sportline alloys) added a baileys twin piston dump valve new battery new alarm parts new bosch air flow meter so car now starts every time, runs & idles fine and drives ok but the car is very very lumpy from launch to about 2,000 revs it judders then kicks into life ive only found out tonight whilst looking through my TT booklets and info that the car should be running on premium unleaded 98 octane! ive just been putting normal shell unleaded in it so would that make it run like it is (its not the usuall merc quiet) this is how the car looks with the 17" AMG's on it ... http://i127.photobucket.com/albums/p...t/P5010025.jpg and at the risk of being told to piss off here is a pic of my other w124 coupe with the 18" wheels i was having a nightmare fitting http://i127.photobucket.com/albums/p...pot/jhgf49.jpg spent £100 on some quality brabus spacers and they fit like a dream |
the amg's look like four fronts. it would look better staggered in my opinion
|
that second pic makes the long hood standout i think, gives the car a bullitt look, i like it.
