S/S brake hoses can be had from Troutman or Goodridge in CA, Godman in TN or Earl's Supply. Price is usually around $80/4.

On my 400E I ran fresh air into the housing from under the headlights. I had removed the H/L wiper assemblies and replaced the panel with a new non-wiper panel...$6.50@
I then used a 3/4" end mill and cut three 3" slots, 1" between each, in the middle of each panel. I backed this up from behind with fine S/S mesh and repainted it the color of the car. It gets fresh air, deflects rain from the housing and doesn't look obtrusive.

Pictures...

I've not taken pictures of them and the car is black so may not show up too well, but I can try. I still have the jig to hold the frames while machining so I could do another set. It's not like a permanent conversion as all you would have to remove is the wiper motor and block the water hose to the blade on each side. All could be reinstalled at a later date to keep original, in the meantime just box up the takeoff parts and store them. I find the H/L wipers kind of ugly and of not much effect anyway, just use Rain-X on the H/Ls!

I just picked up Troutman lines from germanautoparts.com for $69.00. I expect to receive them today or tomorrow, and install them this weekend. I'l let everyone know how it went.
