I'm installing my Remus Exhaust this weekend and was wondering if anyone knew what would happen to my car if I take out the Cat and put straight pipe. I know my check engine light will come on but will my computer make the engine run different?
Thanks

hey amg142

does your cat have pre-cats? if so, gut them out and put in a 2" stainless steel pipe. this will definetely give you some more torque. i believe if you remove the main cat you might loose power due to back pressure. i am not exactly sure. also you won't pass smog if you live in california.

change your oem resonator to a supersprint free-flow resonator. call tony downs at bekkers import at ext 16. his tel # is (800) 624-5410. he can definitely order it for you at a reasonable price. tell him andy iino sent you.

later
andy

Cats.....and dogs

Hey amg142.....don't I know you from somewhere???

If you've already puchased a Remus, I guess that's fine.....I know you're in FL.

Basically, if you go to a local custom exhaust shop, They should be able to set you up as follows:

Remove all resonators baffles and everything else BESIDES the cat and replace with stainless pipe. Install a free-flow cat and hook up your Remus. The cat sould provide all the backpressure your system needs to give you a good powerband, while giving the spent gasses the most direct exit for sound and power.
