cheers ed, looks like my calcs werent far off, and a 2.65 would be almost perfect.

my getrag is from a 190e cozzy so should have the exact samr ratios as your figures.

i suppose 60 in first isnt really gonna be posible, but that seems much more like it.

wich car quoted those figures, did one of the 190s have a 2.65? also i thought they were all 185mm ring gears

i amalso sure ive seen a pic of a 500e with the asd diff as well?

i believe the hammer used the gleeson torsen unit, wich is v v rare, and by all accounts prone to big ware issues if the oil isnt changed exactly on time.

not sure id find one of those.

if your car isnt shiny, you dont know what you are talking about, remember; paint shine = knowledge. In order to be taken seriously, you should spend all your money on paint, (and get a dyno reading).
Dont forget to polish it often

Nick, I'm also considering swapping the diff and in my opinion the 2.65 is perfect for the 5-speed getrag on a boosted engine (will be better for putting the power to the ground in 1-st & 2-nd gears and for highway driving). I found one from a C-klass and intended to swap the ring an pinion into my case, but it turned out that I'd have to swap the drive shafts since the joint to the drive shaft was different . Anyway still looking for a suitable 2.65 diff.....

i am still sure i have read some where that the 140 has a 2.65 asd diff on one model.

have been ringing round masaratti breakers lookin for a gleeson torsen from a biturbo, but apparently they didnt all get them...
