Protecting expensive electronics
Hey guys came across this while doing a Google search of "overvoltage relays".
I would like to know what the net-wisdom is on overvoltage relays or crowbar protection circuits & polyfuses. Specifically, installing another overvoltage relay, crowbar protection circuit, and/or polyfuses to protect expensive electronics. These links make some good reading: Polyfuses: http://www.rst-engr.com/kitplanes/KP0103/KPtext.doc Crowbar circuits: http://www.rst-engr.com/kitplanes/KP0109/KPtext.pdf Overvoltage relays: http://www.rst-engr.com/kitplanes/KP0110/KPtext.pdf Index of articles: http://www.rst-engr.com/kitplanes/ An overview of alternator charging circuits: http://www.nflite.com/system.pdf :-) neil 1988 360TE AMG 1993 500E |
