Ross, the first chart is for a W203 C230, look on the top it's a 2002 model.
And I think the 433 HP is at the crank.

My bad, I had a typo there, I meant to say 2002 C230 (W203 chassis of course).

Are you sure about the 433 hp at the crank? A CLK55 puts out roughly 345 hp at the crank, with driveline losses 288 hp sounds about right. Besides, I don't think they would remove the engine for a simple dyno run, could I be wrong here?

Also, Kleemann up above mentions 509 hp on a 500 engine (not 5.4 liter?), maybe this is at the crank? I don't know?

All I know is I get warm thinking about this setup in a 500E!!!

Oh I'm sorry. I was wrong. For some reason I was thinking of the Kleemann CLK43K which puts out 430 at the crank. Forgot for a second the car in this case was a CLK55.

That would be great if you got a Kleemann supercharger on your 500E! Keep us posted.

Art, I WISH!!!

The earliest I would be able to justify such a treat to myself, my Wife and the car would be late this year.

In the mean time, I'll just keep on drooling....

Maybe some of the other 500E guys will take the plunge sometime soon.

HP/TQ numbers

All the dynos taken on a DynoJet will be rear wheel hp. Only dynos like BOSCH and Mustang can calculate drivetrain loss on decel and give the crank figure. There is an approximate 20% loss through the drive train (automatic gearbox).

Careful reading the dynos, shift points in the trans produce power spikes- look at the highest point in a smooth curve. 433 equates to about 541

(433 / .8 = 541) Kompressor

(284 / .8 = 355) Stock

MBZ engines will always be very close to the published power figures, still there is variance between engines, some high some low.

Many thanks Kleemann,

I can always use a little inspiration to get my butt in gear and start saving for future mods. Do you have any performance figures like 0-60 / 0-100, and top speed for the Kleemann ML55, CLK55, or E55?

My last request I promise.

Perf figures

ML55K: 0-60 in 5.7 sec, 1/4 mi untested
CLK43K: 0-60 in 4.9 sec, 1/4 mi 13.7 @ 109
CLK55K: 0-60 in 4.6 sec, 1/4 mi 12.4 @ 111
S50K: 0-60 in 5.0 sec, 1/4mi 13.5 @ 108
C32K: 0-60 in 6.2 sec, 1/4 mile in 14.2 @ 97

Top speed in an ML55K is bounded by you own nerve. CLK's with kompressor will easily go 190 mph+, same with the S, CL classe.

The US CLK55 only have 342hp not 355. So I did my own math and found this.

433.4 x 1.1866 = 514.3 Kompressor

288.2 x 1.1866 = 342 Stock

Note: I used the # on the dyno that was posted earlier.

I am not flaming just stating my opinion, but you KLEEMANN stated that the 500 motor will have 509 hp at the flywheel. How can this be if the 55 motor only makes 514hp? Kleemann (co.) must have overstated the #s a bit. And from the acceleration #s it looks like the power starts to come on later because a stock CLK55 does 60 in 4.8sec and the Kleemann does it in 4.6 sec (mind you those are different drivers). I also expected a bit more out of the 430. And I think you should look at the Car and Driver article about your cars. I am not 100% sure but I think I remember them saying that they got a 4.9 0-60 for the CLK43K, and a 1/4 that was a bit better.

Believe me I in no way making saying anything bad about Kleemann, I would love any Kleemann auto.

I also think it is great you are on the Mercedes boards.
