M119.960 with T56 6 speed
Hi,
I'm looking to install a manual 6 speed on an M119 engine. In looking at examples of conversions, the BMW ZF options seem most popular. I would prefer a brand new unit and I don't like the adapter plate mounting method. So a Tremec T56 is a potential option. I don't see it having been done before. I'm sure it's been considered. Is there a reason why it wouldn't work? Cheers! Peter |

Problems:
- bell housing - crank position sensor - flywheel Figure out how to make those work with your transmission and you are on your way.

The other problem is starter positioning.
The second thread mentioned by Frank has the adapter plate done, the flywheel done, but in the hands of the machinist, who was still puzzling out the starter setup, so the result is not in my car yet. Other folks have done similar flywheels. -CTH |
