fuel actuator on 16v

i picked up "How to Tune & Modify Bosch Fuel Injection" tonight at the book store. while reading over the information on the KE-Jetronic system, which is quite good BTW, i remembered a thread on this board or the old 190e revolution board about an adjustment that can be made to the electrohydraulic fuel actuator, the little black box on the side of the fuel distributor. i can't find it by searching. if i remember correctly, if you open the box there is an adjustment screw that can be turned to richen or lean the fuel air mix. also, if i remember correctly, this should attempt to adjust the fuel air mix at all RPMs but the lambda or 02 sensor will correct the fuel air mix if it's too rich or lean. but, at WOT the lambda sensor is ignored by the fuel system. does anyone remember which direction to turn the screw to richen the fuel air mix? and, does anyone reccomend against a slight richening of the fuel for slight performance gains. FYI i have no main cat so i'm not worried about that.

i'm just hoping to squeeze a little more power out of my engine until i can get a K-star mappable system installed and tuned.

That would be clock-wise 1/8 turn.

M.B. Doc.

i took the actuator off and tried to adjust the screw. the screw was already turned fully clockwise. i could turn it CCW but not CW. so, i just left it alone. any idea why this would be like this? does this likely mean i'm running way too rich all the time?

thanks

You must remove the screw & there is an allen adjustment screw about 2.5mm, about 1/8 turn clockwise.
