E55 AMG exhaust

Hi guys...
Any suggestions on a replacement exhaust for a '03 E55 AMG??
I've heard that the loss of 24 horsepower when compared to the '03 SL55 AMG, is from the smaller-diameter, larger length exhaust fitted on the E55.

PM Benzmac, I believe he's had a chance to play with the new E55 already. I think he mentioned that the horsepower difference was actually a boost adjustment on the kompressor.

BTW if you have one can you post a pic and your driving impressions. Also maybe a quick comparison to other cars driven.

It is exhaust....

The E55 has a smaller diameter pipe than the SL55 and it is longer as well. I believe the E55 is 200 pounds lighter though so performance is about the same.

The HP 'rating' from the manufacturer is there to protect the flagship SL 55....They are identical in power. I have dyno'd both cars and the output is the same.

BTW....The exhaust is the same. Diameter and catalysts.

Those are some pretty strong hp numbers! I'm glad Mercedes is finally making some real horsepower.

E55 HP

The E55 has a crimp on the underside of the driver's side air inlet tube, that can be replaced with an S500 inlet tube for $25 according to posters on MBWorld.org.
