I just had my EZL go bad on my 1994 E500. Surprising thing is that my car has just under 60,000 miles. I am now trying to source a used one to replace it.

Vince. Its not Worth it. The used one could go out. And your screwed. Its better to step up and buy a new one @ least it will have a 1 yr parts warr.


i have seen used ones that people bought. and it went out ther next yr.

Go for a used unit - you would have to burn through 4 used ones before reaching the cost of a new one. These gizmos only take an hour to remove, install and clear codes and any indy would be competent enough to do so.

Yes, I was able to find a used one locally and it took me 10 minutes to install. Runs like a charm...Will need to go to my mechanics to get the Check Engine light put out and have new rotors and caps installed. I am back in bizness...!!!!!!! Thanks to all for the help...and oh, EZL babe, please do not go out on me like that again......
