What options do I have for upgrading the front discs on a 300e 4matic, I assume the rear brakes can be upgraded to 400e spec, but since there was no 400e 4matic, is there a way to get better binders in the front.
It has 15 8-hole alloys now, will I need to swap to the 16 alloys to fit the upgraded brakes? Thanks in advance Russla '91 4matic |

The 400E had the same 15" wheels as the 6-cyl W124's. Hence, 400E brakes will fit under the usual "8-hole" 15" wheels. If you go with 500E brakes then 16" wheels will be required. When ordering 400E brakes make sure you get the 93 and later "update". The early 92's were a bit prone to warpage. (search Shop Forum archives for further specifics)
Hope this helps...Lee |

Thanks for the information re the wheel sizes. One more question, will the 400e rotors(discs) mount on the 300e 4matic front hubs?
