It's definitely possible to use a manual transmission on an engine that originally had an automatic transmission. www.renntechmercedes.com does the conversion. Also, I remember there used to be a Brabus shop on Kifissias going towards Kifisia from Athens, a little before Ugeia. I don't know if it is still there, but your best bet would be to find the Brabus shop in Athens...they would be the best help.

Based on your suggested SL500 base for an upgrade:

I would suggest a 300SL-24. Put an updated skin on it from a late model SL. Turbocharge the motor. You can also find them with manual transmissions already mated to the engine.

3.0 liter, 24 valve inline six.

The mosselman TT quotes an output of roughly 335 HP at 0.4 bar of boost. More than the C32, with as much, if not more torque.

hm....thats really NOT BAD!!!! sounds pretty powerfull to me...and its THE CAR!!! one of the most beauttyfull i have ever seen!

What about this mosselman turbos?? i read and hear allot about it on mercedes engines (i think they are made for Mb cars right...?)
So why dont put people Hybrid Garret turbos and stuff like that in MB cars like others do in tuned cars?
how much can the stroke be incrazed for this engine....? this could kick some more HP i think out of this baby!

i looked around and came to the conclusion that a ce300 24v would be a better solution concluding on cars weight but i think i'll take better the clk320 '00, make a transmission change and ask the mosselman guys if there is a way to install the twin turbo kit on a clk 320 with incrazed engine stroke (about 3.8 would be possible i think). What do you guys think, will they accept to aply it on this car? i am little bit shame to call them and ask from the moment i dont have even the car in my hands..!vA ride to holland wouldnt be the problem. the only question is if the aply of such a twin turbo system is possible on the clk's engine!

I would like to hear your opinions please!

THX allot!

The 2003-04 C320 Coupe and sedans cane be ordered with the 6 speed stick. They just do all the amg stock parts to the brakes and body parts. The entire AMG supercharger stuff can be installed on the c320, with headers and tuning you could be at 400 HP. Real fast on the lighter coupe.

By going the turbo way on a 3.2 AMG engine, you will be able to get 500hp easely and reliably. Their is a guy in Saudi Arabia who did that on his C32 AMG.

I will search for the link

Lots of difference... kompressor engine has lower compression, forged rods/pistons, more fuel being injected, ecu progarmed to read everything... etc. Its also mated to a tranny that can handle the extra power. Oh, and had bigger brakes to slow done a faster car better (but now I am getting too far away from the engine difference).

I have done the turbo kit thing and wont do it again because its cheaper and more efficient to just buy a turbo car. But do to you situation in Greece where you are taxed upon engine displacement, I say go for it...

So...the 32 amg engine is the best basis to install a turbo kit, from the point on u can programm easyly reprogram the delivered ecu with this engine....but the question is: i would like to use a clk 320 '00 as basis for this mod. so what is wiser more reliable and doesnt cost to much! use the 3.2 engine install forged pistons polish cylinders and so on and then use a turbo....or install on this car a 32amg engine rip off the kompressor and install a turbo...?

My target is to get 400-450 reliable HP from the engine (i'll wont say no if it gets more). i want a reliable strong engine so what to do? can the 32amg engine handle 100extra HP without problems and mods?

if you weren't against the jap engines i would say a SR20DET, RB26DETT, 2JZ-GTE would be the way to go (little ethnocentric but whatever floats your boat). to get a lot of power custom turbo would probably be the way to go, something like a trust T88. A benz engine would prob take a big shot of nos pretty well too, like a 100shot maybe 150. btw the real jap engines can stand well into the 1600+hp range, daily drivers in the 1000 range.

First i have nothing against a Skyline engine i a clk(one of few engines which i admire) and second a sklyline and supra engine with their transmissions will never fit in a clk! and iff someone could fit them in to this car it wouldnt be possible to keep all the electronics of the clk like ESP and sh** like that and allso there are 3 seperate processor units on this car and to reprogramm them from the beginning would be a to big ammount of time and money!

So i think from the point on i am no millionair....a turbo or supercharger kit on a 3.2 MB engine with an output of reliable 400-450HP would be good enougf for me if this is possible of course..and if it is, how??!

Try to contact every mercedes tuning shop in your area. or anyplace that does drag cars, too see if they are up for some custom work (ie headers, intake, manifold intercooler piping) the best bet is going to be to drop the compresion, have a custom turbo mainfold made, run a stand alone fuel management. Along with all other hardware to go with the upgrades (forged pistons, cams... ect)

I have to disagree about runing a jap engine in the car not being posible. their are ford powered mercedes runing around as well as supra powered nissans and thousands of other oddball cars. almost anything can be done these days.
