The passenger door on my 300 SL -91 is a little hard to close. I guess it needs some kind of adjustment. Is this something I can do myself or is it a big operation?? Is it common?? An other thing that may be a result of this is that the little wooden panel in the door (with the seat-adjustment) is loose on both sides. How is it attached and is there a good way to repair this??

The seat control plate is secured by spring-loaded metal clips at the rear and fixed plastic clips at the leading edge. The plastic clips seem to frequently break. New plastic clips may be had for about $5 at your dealer.
You can easily remove the plate by pushing it rearward against the spring-loaded clips until the ones at the leading edge are free. Then simply withdraw the plate outward. Bob |

Emilo,
Adjusting the door is something I would leave for the body-tech...unless you know for sure what the result of readjusted hinges/lock will be. The loose plates inside the door are not related to the fact that the door closes difficult other as it may be the result of the door that have to be smacked... Thanks again for the measures of the side indicators; I have the holes in place now! I still have some problems with the cruise control (as you can read in a different thread). greetingz,
