Assistence needed? 73 450SL I can turn the key off remove it from the switch and the car stays running until i pull the coil wire. I replaced the ignition switch, alturnator and regulator, nine relays are new as well as all the fuses. Thanks for your assistence

start a new tread with your question , but looks like your key switch is not wired correctly.
Did this problem just appear or did you do some work and it appeared?
How worn is the key?

Car has original 60,000 miles i have both keys, neither key is badly worn. The issue is electrical after i remove the key the charging indiacator stays lite on the dash. I just found a original Mercedes Tech manual from 1973 so i can begin the trace of the wiring diagram. Thanks for your input

I agree with gsjohnson regarding differential rebuild. I am about to tackle this on my 1987 560SL and would appreciate any tips and tricks!
