B2 piston removal
Ok, so I had all the symptoms of the infamous B2 piston failure. I pulled the cover off and out fell most of the pieces. However, the larger disc that is part of the piston is jammed in the case. I've read all of the replacement procedures that I've found. None of them mention this. They just say remove and replace the piston and sleeve. I'm sure this has to be a common problem with this failure. Anyone have any experience on getting this part out.
Oh, BTW if it matters and I don't see why it would. This is a 1983 sl500 euro. Thanks for any and all help, much appreciated. Marc

B2 site:peachparts.com Lots of pictures here for example B2 Piston W124 722.303 in bits photo shoot Essentially the B2 piston looks similar for the 722.3 and 722.4 transmissions. You should, however, check with a decent parts supplier to see if the B2 piston was upgraded for your specific transmission => I think some of them changed a little bit...
