Turn signal gone whacky

I have just found out that when i put my turn signals on it turns onthe emergency lights instead.I checked the emergency light switch and that works independently, okay...what is going on here, anyone ? Thank you

id say your indicator relay is bad , Id check there first

The electrical system guide in the on line manual has a component location section but to answer the question it is behind the instrument cluster.

Thank you rowdie. I am very curious about the 'electrical system guide in the on line manual' you mention. I've never heard of this before. How could I access it myself?

Yes, the quiet clicking sound is audible from around there.....why does MB make any re & re so darn difficult ???? Thanks for responding.

Wow rowdie, thank you very much for 'guiding me' to this fantastic site. I can see i will be spending many many hrs now sifting through all the informative pages trying to understand the workings of this complicated (to me) machine, instead of bothering forum members. I cannot thank you enough.

The easiest 1st step is adding an additional ground from the gauge cluster to the chassis.

The ticking is so quiet, it was very difficult to zero in on the exact location...I thought it must be around there somewhere? Thank you for your response it is much appreciated.
