I purchased the kit last year. It works great. Had a problem, I emailed Bob , he replied immediately and issue is resolved!

Luckily my Mb's still bangin'. It's me that's looking a little brain-dead. Here's my lame admission: I thought the locking mechanism on my 124 wagon's back door was broken because I could hear the vacuum working back there but the lock didn't. And I hadn't seen another 124 with a red dot by the glove box, and extra wood on the dash and doors, and the red dot key; Valet key never dawned on me. Last weekend I finally my "Doh" moment and "fixed" the broken lock by using the spare key with the red dot. So now that it's all fixed, I'm pretty interested in your gizmo. Can I check out the instructions? Will it "master key" the rear hatch door, too? Or just the 4 doors like the valet key? Thanks

If you hear a hissing noise (vacuum leak) and the lock doesn't actuate, most likely the vacuum actuator needs replacement. You'll have to take it apart for inspection.

Wood on the dash+doors didn't happen until 1990, so a previous owner of your '87 upgraded things. I did the same on my 87. There should not be a red dot by the glove box, not sure what you are talking about. The valet / red-dot key shouldn't unlock the glove box.

How did you fix a broken lock using the valet key? Sounds like your primary key might be worn out? Is the other key brass (aftermarket copy), or steel (factory)?

The remote lock/unlock will operate all 4 doors plus the rear hatch (or trunk lid), same as if you locked/unlocked from the driver door with a key. However it won't unlock the trunk if the lock was turned with the master key to keep it locked separately; I think the wagon hatch does the same thing.

I just installed the keyless remote on my 1991 300D and it works great. Took less than an hour total time. Thanks Bob!

I looked through my storage and I found one available. However, there is only ONE remote. The other remote does not work but is included. $30 shipped. Please PM me. First come first serve as I do not make these often now as the demand is not there. It would work with W124, W126 or later model W201.
